How I Plan My Disneyland Paris Trip:

February 21, 2022

I feel as though I've been to Disneyland Paris enough times to advise others on how they can easily plan their trip, to be honest it's my dream job. So this is how I plan my Disneyland Paris trips, it might help you to get some tips.....

Booking:

I always book the hotels and tickets together. I compare prices on the Disneyland Paris official website against the prices on Magic Breaks, both do hotels & tickets together and pick which is cheaper, one might have an offer on for food so that obviously plays a massive part in who I choose to book with. I've had the best experience booking with both companies, if you have any questions or need add-ons they both have an instant chat feature on the websites and the staff are so incredibly helpful in making your booking as easy as possible.

Hotels:

If I'm looking to have a trip on the cheaper side I'd book a stay at either Hotel Cheyenne or Santa Fe -  these are the cheaper options at Disneyland Paris. I've stayed in both, the rooms are themed beautifully, the breakfast buffet is amazing, the cast members are so helpful. Both are only a 10/15 minute walk to the park following a little canal with the biggest fish in!

If I want to make my trip a bit more up market I'll book either Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay Club. I've stayed in Sequoia Lodge once before and I am again in November, it is the perfect Autumn/Winter hotel - in my opinion - just because the bar has the most beautiful fireplace, so cosy! I love the look of it aswell and the old fashioned feel! I've stayed in Newport Bay Club once, somehow managed to bag myself a bargain and I felt so incredibly posh! It's absolutely gorgeous, definitely my favourite! Both are a 5/10 minute walk to the park around the lake!

If I'd won the lottery or just really really wanted to spoil myself then I'd be staying in the new Marvel hotel or the Disneyland Hotel, the latter is one of my biggest dreams! I've not stayed in either of these hotels but I would love love love to stay in the Disney Hotel once the renovations have been completed! Have you seeeeen them?!

Food

Obviously this is one of the most important parts of planning the Disney trip! There are so many places to eat! There are so many things to look at when deciding where to eat, do you want a counter service meal? Character dining? Buffet? Three course? I always tend to go for the buffet restaurants, Plaza Gardens, Cafe Agrabah & Billy Bobs are my favourite buffet restaurants within the parks there are so many different options so everyone can be satisfied, the only thing I will say is Cafe Agraba did close at 4pm so would be more appropriate for a lunch visit!

In terms of a table service meal there are the choices of Captain Jacks & Chez Remy. I've been to Captain Jack's before and found the food was nice, but there wasn't much option, also its very very dark which made me get horrendously sleepy. There's also the option of Chez Remy in the Disney Studios which I've never been to, but would love to one day. The theming is incredible with bottle tops for seats, humongous plates & cocktail umbrellas to really give you the feel that you're the size of a rat.

Finally, my favourite. Character Dining. I love interacting with the characters at Disney, I think it's just so much fun! I've only ever done Cafe Mickey at Disney which is located in the Disney Village, it's £65pp, for a three course meal, but it's so worth it. We had quite a late reservation at about 8pm so it started quietening down as it closes at 10:30, which meant the characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Eeyore) came round about four times. We were so spoilt! I had the Tuna Tartare for a starter, the rib eye steak & chips for a main & then the classic Mickey pudding! It all tasted incredible, A+ to the chef!! There's also a character dinner buffet at Inventions, which is on my bucket list to do one day! A character breakfast at Plaza Gardens, which I've never been too but I've heard is really busy so I'm not overly interested.

Character Meets &  Rides

I never really plan which rides I'll be going on, I plan which parks I'll be going to when I get there and just try and do as many rides I can which is all of them, unless there's closures and such. It's the same with character meets. I always like to get a character meal in when I'm there - this reduces lines of waiting for Mickey in the parks. I like to use the extra magic hours to meet characters too, this is where the parks open an hour early for guests who are staying at Disney Hotels, some rides are open and there are characters out and about at this time and it just reduces time spent queuing for both once the parks are open to guests not exclusively staying in the Disney Hotels.
